<p><strong>Voters should know what Republicans like Robert Kaiser and Barry Wilkes will do if they’re elected:<br></strong></p><ul><li><p>Higher taxes for New Jersey families and seniors? That’s what Republicans like Robert Kaiser, Barry Wilkes, and Jack Ciattarelli are promising. While New Jerseyans struggle with rising costs, they would support a 10% sales tax<sup>1 2</sup> and roll back property tax relief for seniors, homeowners, and renters<sup>3</sup>. They have already raised local taxes by $11 million<sup>4</sup>. While New Jersey families pay the price, Robert and Barry’s wealthy friends and donors will reap the benefits of the Republican tax plan<sup>5</sup>. Even awarding campaign donors bloated government contracts<sup>6</sup>. Their goal is clear: higher taxes, special deals for the uber-wealthy insiders, and no relief for working families<sup>7</sup>. Thankfully, Lisa Swain and Chris Tully are fighting back. Cutting property taxes in half for homeowners, seniors and renters through StayNJ and Anchor programs. Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li><p>Recruiting and training volunteers to participate in the political process.</p></li><li><p>Direct voter contact through phone banking, door knocking, and other canvassing methods.</p></li><li><p>Attending campaign and local political events.</p></li><li><p>Research for voter outreach.</p></li></ul><p>Training and guidance will be provided by full-time experienced campaign staff. <p><strong>FAIR LAWN, NJ</strong> – Senator Lagana, Assemblywoman Swain, and Assemblyman Tully released the following statement in response to the reported bomb threat at Congregation Ahavat Achim in Fair Lawn:</p><p>“The bomb threat targeted at Congregation Ahavat Achim in Fair Lawn last night was a disgraceful act of cowardice. While we are relieved that no evidence of a bomb or related materials was found, this threat – which came just ahead of Rosh Hashanah – is deeply troubling.&nbsp;</p><p>Hate and antisemitism have no place in Fair Lawn, in New Jersey, or this country. This threat comes amid rising antisemitism and threats to Jewish institutions across our country. Last year, antisemitic incidents increased 36 percent. We are committed to working with federal, state, and local partners to address rising extremism.&nbsp;</p><p>Following this incident, we’ve been in touch with local officials to offer support. We commend the Fair Lawn police for their swift response to this event, safely evacuating everyone from the synagogue. The perpetrators of this harmful act must be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”</p><p><em>###</em></p>

A trailblazer, she was only the second Black woman in the history of the United States to lead a state legislature. <p><strong>Bergen County, NJ</strong> – Senator Joseph Lagana (D-Paramus) wrote and helped to pass a series of bills this year which will reduce the threat of auto theft in Bergen County and help keep every New Jerseyan safe from fentanyl.&nbsp;</p><p>“My constituents have told me loud and clear that they want Bergen County to become a safer place to live, work and raise a family,” <strong>said Senator Lagana</strong>. “This year I was proud to deliver for them by passing a series of laws which will decrease auto theft and we’re working to get fentanyl off our streets, making all of us in New Jersey safer from crime.”</p><p>Responding to the rise in auto theft in New Jersey, Senator Lagana, Assemblyman Chris Tully, and Assemblywoman Lisa Swain passed legislation that will increase penalties for repeat car theft offenders.
