Swain and Tully are Victorious in Primary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Lisa Swain and Chris Tully are Victorious over Primary Challengers

PARAMUS, NJ – Tonight, Assemblywoman Lisa Swain (D-Fair Lawn) and Assemblyman Chris Tully (D-Bergenfield) secured a resounding victory in the Democratic primary in New Jersey’s 38th Legislative District (LD38).

In this historically swing district, widely expected to be one of the most competitive races of the 2025 cycle, the incumbent Assemblymembers successfully fended off primary challengers running a negative campaign backed by a $7 million PAC.

Assemblywoman Swain and Assemblyman Tully released the following statement:

“Tonight, our Democratic neighbors in LD38 sent a clear message: they want leaders who will bring us together, not tear us apart. They want leaders who have a record of delivering results, from lowering costs to protecting reproductive rights and passing the strongest gun safety laws in the nation. Most importantly they want the team that can win, has won, and will win to ensure this district stays blue in November. We proudly accept the Democratic nomination in District 38 and have already started working to keep extreme Republicans out of District 38 come November.”
